As a Partner of AHK Iraq, Salt & Associates was honoured to participate as part of the official German-Iraqi business delegation at the Baghdad International Fair 2026, alongside representatives of some of the largest German companies operating and investing in Iraq.
The delegation programme commenced in Baghdad on January 31, 2026, with a comprehensive briefing session organized in cooperation with EFI. The session focused on aligning strategic priorities, identifying key sectors of cooperation, and establishing a clear framework to strengthen German-Iraqi economic engagement. This provided an important foundation for the delegation’s activities and facilitated meaningful dialogue between public and private stakeholders.
On February 1, 2026, high-level engagements took place across government and institutional counterparts. Opening remarks by H.E. Dr. Daniel Krebber, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, underscored the importance of long-term partnership, regulatory stability, and mutual trust. Meetings with the Prime Minister’s Office, the General Company for Ports of Iraq, the World Bank, and GIZ Iraq focused on infrastructure development and strategic national initiatives, including the Iraq Development Road Project. The participation of BMWE and DIHK further reinforced the strategic importance of German-Iraqi economic cooperation.
The programme also included the German Business Day at the Baghdad International Fair, organized in coordination with the Iraqi Embassy in Berlin and the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, providing a valuable platform for direct business-to-government and business-to-business engagement. The delegation concluded with an official reception hosted by H.E. Ambassador Daniel Krebber at the German Embassy in Baghdad, bringing together senior representatives from government, industry, and the international business community.
