Salt & Associates Highlights Legal Foundations for Women-Led Business Growth at AHK Iraq Event

Salt & Associates was pleased to participate in “From Structure to Scale: How to Build a Business Empire,” a Women in Business event organised by the German Liaison Office for Industry and Commerce in Iraq (AHK Iraq). The gathering brought together women leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals to exchange perspectives on business growth, leadership and sustainable entrepreneurship in Iraq.

Representing the firm were Dr. Arwa Al-Rawi, Strategic Relations Advisor, and Israa Naji, Associate. Ms. Naji delivered a presentation titled “Legal Foundations for Business Growth,” highlighting the importance of sound corporate structures, clear partnership arrangements, enforceable commercial contracts and trademark protection in building businesses equipped for long-term growth.

The event featured a panel discussion moderated by Mariam Mohammed, Marketing Manager at AHK Iraq. Panellists included Suhad Al-Fartousi, a business development and growth specialist and Executive Director of Al-Fursan platform and TEDxBaghdad; Tabarak Majid Hameed, Regional Human Resources Manager for Iraq, Libya and Jordan at Siemens Energy; and Lumaan Al-Rais, Manager of Arab Bank’s Main Branch in Iraq.

The conversation explored the realities of building and scaling businesses, women’s leadership in corporate and entrepreneurial settings, access to finance, the evolving banking environment and the institutional support needed to help women-led ventures succeed. Participants also considered how experience-sharing, mentorship and professional networks can strengthen Iraq’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

For Salt & Associates, participation reflects a continuing commitment to corporate social responsibility and to an enabling legal and commercial environment for women in business.
